About Me
This is my webpage for information about me in the areas of work, education, research, and personal facts. Here is a little overview about me. I have lived and worked in many parts of the United States, including Iowa, New Mexico, Texas, New York, Colorado, and Oregon. I have also been fortunate enough to have traveled throughout many other parts of the US, as well as Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Turkey, on both the Asian and European sides. Most of my travels have been due to my parents, who relocated many times as I was growing up, mainly due to my dad’s work with Lockheed Martin. School and my own work explain most of the rest of my travels.
I have spent more time in New Mexico than anywhere else, about 20 years, so I consider myself a New Mexican. I was actually born in Iowa City, but only lived there until the age of one. So, I cannot really say I know Iowa that well. However, I did spend quite a bit of time on my grandmother's farm in Victor, Iowa, about 30 miles west of Iowa City. So, I do know a little bit about farm life and working in the cornfields during the hot Iowa Summers. I currently live in Portland, Oregon, which is about as different from New Mexico as it is possible to be. However, each has a unique beauty and charm of its own. I have been in Portland since 2006 working on my Ph.D. in Engineering & Technology Management at Portland State University. I have also taught and worked there during that time.
